It's no secret that beyond the tech innovations needed to just return to sport, organizations will need to think outside the box to replace lost revenue during the shutdown and grow into the future. You can only sell so many signs and so many tickets and teams must leverage technology and digital assets to open up unlimited runway for near and long-term revenue generation. Tech innovations need to be looked at as part of a larger ecosystem. Technology teams that are cost centres will not survive, they need to be true value generators that are creating an ecosystem within the organization that works alongside the business to create growth at the box-office, on the field of play, in the multimedia/digital transformation space and of course on the balance sheet.

The live audience format is definitely going to see some changes, with rumours in the N.B.A of teams for sale from lost revenue or maybe even pulling out because they are not confident moving forward with whatever changes that are coming, will be interesting to see what they got planned to make up for the differences. I'm a big tech guy and been watching sports for years, I am excited to see the changes using technology moving foward.
